VERIFICATION LAYER 01

Check SHA-256 Digest Integrity

Every PDF signed on Inscriben is hashed with SHA-256. Dropping the file above calculates its live byte hash—even a 1-byte tampering changes the digest completely.

VERIFICATION LAYER 02

Inspect PAdES & Aadhaar Certificates

Our inspector scans the PDF for ETSI/PAdES PKCS#7 detached cryptographic signatures and CCA India / UIDAI Aadhaar eSign ESP certificates.

VERIFICATION LAYER 03

Verify BSA 2023 § 63 Audit Trail

Enter the Document ID or scan the Audit Certificate QR code to verify signatory IP addresses, UTC timestamps, face liveness, and Polygon Mainnet anchors.

VERIFICATION & EVIDENTIARY FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions About PDF Signature Verification

How do I check if a PDF digital signature is valid online?
Simply drag and drop your signed PDF into Inscriben's PDF Signature & Hash Verifier above, or enter the Inscriben Document ID. Our verifier computes the file's exact SHA-256 cryptographic digest, scans the PDF structure for PAdES / PKCS#7 digital signature dictionaries (/ByteRange and /Contents), checks for Aadhaar eSign / X.509 certificates, and verifies whether the document matches an immutable blockchain-anchored audit record.
Does uploading a PDF to the File Inspector send my document to a server?
No. When you drop a PDF into our Cryptographic File Inspector, the SHA-256 hash computation and PKCS#7 signature structure inspection happen 100% locally in your web browser using the Web Crypto API. Only the 64-character hexadecimal SHA-256 hash or extracted Document ID is queried against Inscriben's verification registry.
What happens if even a single character in a signed PDF is modified?
Cryptographic hash functions (SHA-256) and PAdES PKCS#7 signatures are tamper-evident. Modifying even a single byte, space, or pixel in a signed PDF produces a completely different SHA-256 hash and invalidates the `/ByteRange` signature digest, immediately exposing the tampering.
Can I verify Aadhaar eSign and DSC signed PDFs here?
Yes. Our PDF Signature Inspector detects embedded PAdES / PKCS#7 signature dictionaries generated by UIDAI Aadhaar eSign ESPs (such as Protean/NSDL), CCA-licensed Digital Signature Certificates (DSCs), Adobe Acrobat Sign, and Inscriben Sign, and displays the embedded signer metadata and SHA-256 fingerprint.
